Furama Resort Danang successfully hosted the 3rd APEC Business Advisory Council i(ABAC) meeting in Danang from 24 to 27 August, 2009.

Nearly 200 entrepreneurs and leaders of leading economic groups of the Asia-Pacific region, and researchers and officials of 21 member countries of APEC attended the ABAC meeting which aims to prepare contents to submit to APEC leaders at the APEC Summit planned to be held in Singapore from 12-14 Nov. Under the theme “Building towards the Bogor Declaration for one community”, ABAC focuses on accelerating regional economic integration, building a model of sustainable growth, and strengthening capacity building and enhancing connectivity. 

On this occasion, Furama warmly welcomed State President, H.E Nguyen Minh Triet during his trip to Danang to attend the 3rd ABAC meeting. President Triet attended the welcoming reception with representatives of 21 member countries of APEC in the Resort’s Gallery room on August 24, 2009. On August 25, 2009, President Triet took part in and gave the welcoming address to all delegates in the opening session in Furama‘s International Conventional Palace. President Triet emphasized that Vietnam has created favorable conditions for entrepreneurs, domestic and international investors as well as proactively integrated in the global community.  Symposiums on Energy Efficiency, Sustainable Development Working Group meetings, Capacity Building & Action Plan Working Group meetings, Finance & Economics Working Group meetings, Liberalization Working Group meetings, a friendly golf tournament at the Montgomerie Golf Links, Danang and Hoi An city tours were the main activities during the meeting. 

A Gala Dinner hosted by Sovico Holdings and Furama Resort was the event highlight on the last day as a special gesture given to all ABAC delegates. As well, a small gift of a symbol of Champa Civilization Art which was commissioned by Sovico Holdings and Furama Resort for this ABAC event was presented to all delegates to enhance their memories of a destination, a famous white sandy beach, a gateway to Vietnam’s World Heritage Sites and of course the friendly and hospitably team of Furama.
