His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa 12th and the Drupka’s monk delegation resided at Furama Resort Danang during their visit to Danang on April 1st.
He was accompanied on his arrival by his Excellency Khamtrul Rinpoche the 9th Jigme Pema Nyinjadh and his Excellency Thuksey Rinpoche the 2nd Jigme Mipham Shedrub, Kunga Rinpoche, and 18 other monks.At the invitation of the Hanoi Buddhist Shangha, their visit to Vietnam is to celebrate the 800 years of the Drupka School and its operation of 15 years in Vietnam. The visit of His Holiness The Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa and companions is also on the occasion of the Avalokitecvara Festival to be held during four days from April 1st to April 4th (February 17th – 20th, Lunar New Year) at Avalokitecvara Pagoda, the Marble Mountains of Danang City.In addition to usual activities such as Avalokitecvara worship and praying services for a prosperous and peaceful nation, the festival this year also has praying services of the Drukpa’s delegation and Avalokitecvara worship. Together with other cultural and traditional festivals, the Avalokitecvara Festival contributes to the spiritual tourism development of Danang City for local people and domestic and foreign tourists to Danang.
