France Wins Danang International Fireworks 2010

The Danang International Fireworks Competition 2010 (DIFC), themed “The Legend of Han River”, successfully hosted more than 100,743 visitors on March 27th – 28th, a 68% increase compared with last year’s with 7,398 foreign and 93,345 domestic tourists.
France outshone its competitors from Portugal, Japan, Vietnam and the United States with a performance inspired by the heart wrenching Vietnamese folklore story of the “fairy mother” Au Co and “dragon father” Lac Long Quan depicting Au Co’s journey on earth after not being allowed to return to heaven. Deep in sorrow her tears fell upon the Han River. Her loneliness was only eased when she met the handsome prince Lac Long Quan.
Runners-up were the Pyrotecnico group from the US State of Pennsylvania. They presented an impressive show with the fast and strong rhythm of Rock n’ Roll. The shows highlighted new and modern performance art. The third place position was shared between Japan, Portugal and the host team Da Nang.
Over the weekend Furama Resort Danang welcomed approximately 800 domestic and foreign guests to stay at the resort, with 75% being Vietnamese visitors. Throughout the competition period, the Furama Resort Danang offered exclusive packages with extra benefits for guests such as seating available in spectator’s area, a cocktail reception and the inclusion of light snacks, fruit, drinks and Furama souvenirs.Furama Danang, 30 Mar, 2010.
