According to Danang municipal Department of Tourism, the city has seen a significant growth in the number of foreign tourist arrivals in 2017.

It is estimated that the total number of visitors coming to Danang city has reached 6.6 million in 2017, rising by 19% compared to 2016 and achieving 104.8% of this year's target.

The total number of foreign visitor arrivals is expected to have increased 36.8% compared to 2016 to 2.3 million this year, achieving 114.7% of 2017's target. About 4.3 million domestic guests are predicted to have visited Danang in 2017, rising by 11.3% against 2016, obtaining 100.1% of this year's target.

FURAMA RESORT DANANG HOSTS 2016 BEACH-LEISURE & MICE TRAVEL MART OPENING CEREMONY AND GALA DINNER

Furama Resort Danang held the Opening Ceremony of the Beach-Leisure & MICE Travel Mart 2016 (BMTM Da Nang 2016) on June 23 at its fabulous Danang Ballroom of the International Convention Palace during a Gala Dinner with a full range of Vietnamese gastronomic delights carefully prepared by its fine chefs.

In attendance at the event were former Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh, incumbent Deputy Minister Vuong Duy Bien, municipal People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho, Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung, and representatives from some domestic and foreign tourism businesses.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Tho remarked "Da Nang boasts great potential for developing tourism.  Included are a synchronous transport infrastructure system with modern seaports and an international airport, being on the central region's heritage route, a diversity of tourism resources, beautiful beaches, and a healthy and safe tourism environment.  Thanks to this, Da Nang has emerged as an attractive destination for visitors from both home and abroad."

He said that the fair offers a chance for participating travel and tourism agencies to introduce their beach-leisure and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) tourism products.  In addition, it is a good opportunity for the city to advertise the beautiful images of the land and people of Da Nang to domestic and foreign friends.

Deputy Minister Bien noted that the international event, the first of its kind in the city, aims to stimulate both the domestic and international tourism markets in order to attract more visitors to Da Nang, and to Viet Nam as whole.  It would also help domestic businesses to boost bilateral trading cooperation with their foreign partners, and expand their markets into other potential foreign countries, especially those with direct international flights into Da Nang.

In the MICE Conference on June 24, on behalf of Danang City, Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh Executive Assistant Manager of Furama Resort, speaker, also introduced buyers the MICE advantages of Danang city, as well as the future projects of Ariyana Danang Exhibition & Convention Centre (ADECC) and the Ariyana Beach Resort and Suites Danang - parts of Ariyana Danang Tourism Complex. In particular, the Ariyana Convention & Exhibition Centre, which is well under way, is a major project in preparation for the 25th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC 2017) Summit. Meanwhile, the Ariyana Beach Resort and Suites Danang include over 1,000 guestrooms and suites and other functional space. These projects will enhance the growth of MICE destination of Danang.

The BMTM Da Nang 2016 then took place at the city's Tien Son Sports Arena from 24 - 26 June.  The fair featured 172 stands from 31 travel agencies and resorts, along with those from Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and Korea.
