The central coastal city of Danang has seen robust growth in the tourism sector, thanks to scores of festivals taking place between May and September.

Danang City recorded 1.6 million tourists over the past two months, surging by 26% year-on-year, said Tran Chi Cuong, deputy director of the Department of Tourism of Danang City. He attributed this to a series of festivals and activities, such as the Danang International Fireworks Festival and Danang-Summer Destination 2018 program.

Set the date for Danang International Firework Competition 2015

It is announced recently that Da Nang International Fireworks Competition DIFC 2015 will be held on 28 and 29 April next year and has been given the theme "Da Nang - Symphony of Colours".

DIFC 2015 will be organized at a total cost of VND 36.2 billion (equals USD $1.7 millions).

Da Nang International Fireworks Competition DIFC – also known as Da Nang Fireworks Festival – is organised since 2008.

For 2015, the competing teams will come from all five continents.  They will be Fireworks for Africa (South Africa), Pyrotecnico (USA), Howard and Son Fireworks (Australia), Surex Firma Rodzinna (Poland), and the host team Da Nang - Viet Nam.  Each will be required to present a magnificent fireworks performance of between 20 and 22 minutes.

Before, during, and after the event, various cultural and sporting activities will be held to attract more visitors to the city, and sight-seeing tours of local attractions will be available for tourists.  The municipal authorities are encouraging local businesses to propose ideas for support activities for DIFC 2015.  The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been asked to seek donations from local individuals and businesses for the floating of flower garlands and colourful lanterns on the Han River, and for the boat procession.
