Da Nang launched the tourist season in 2018 on April 27 at the Bien Dong Park in the city's Son Tra peninsula with a programme of more than 20 activities, aiming to lure and entertain visitors to the coastal city.

Prominent among the events will be a Kayak racing competition, a kite contest and pavilions introducing Da Nang tourism information, sea cuisines, tour services and performance of sea sports. Music performances will also be organised every night.

A painting contest themed sea and islands will be held for children, together with various other activities.

The number of tourists to the central coastal city of Da Nang reached more than 355,500 on holidays between April 28 and May 1, a year-on-year surge of 14.2 percent.

Of the total, there were over 101,600 foreigners and 253,900 domestic holiday-makers, up 20.2 percent and 12 percent respectively from the same time last year.

The majority of foreign visitors were from the Republic of Korea, Japan and China. They came to the city via direct flights.

The Tet Village Market – our annual traditional cultural and culinary event at Furama Resort Danang is next on the fabulous calendar in 2015

Staffs and artists from the Furama Resort have started to prepare for the remarkable "Tet Village Market" which will last for just 3 nights, from 12th – 14th February 2015 (falling on the 24th – 26th December of the Lunar Calendar).

This traditional event at Furama will create a true atmosphere and some scenes of a classic Vietnam street food life during this Lunar New Year - or TET as it is called in Vietnam. A snapshot of the Vietnamese rice-culture, bamboo plants, banana trees and particularly, the food stalls will be set up for visitors to stop by and enjoy some square and cylinder formed glutinous rice cakes together with hot tea. Furthermore, our Chefs will be processing ginger, green squash, coconut, and sweet potato to make traditional jams, popular for young and old.

Right when the guests step into the lobby, hundreds of colorful lanterns will welcome all visitors. A blooming yellow Apricot plant and red firecracker strips will cover be displaying a colorful atmosphere. The "Tung, Truc, Cuc, and Mai", or Pine, Small Bamboo, Daisy and Apricot Blossom trees will send a strong message about the fresh spirit of the upcoming spring season. Baskets of marigold will be set along the path, while red trays of betel leaves and areca fruits will be available from specially set up wooden tables in the lobby.

Bamboo dragon flies, silk lanterns, bamboo flutes, and bonsai will complete the gifts and home decoration on offer. The popular fortune telling as well as calligraphy booths will also be part of the celebrations for visitors to leave back the bad luck, welcome good luck and learn more on their own destiny. The bustling atmosphere, the scent of cakes, and tea will enhance the spirit of this Year's Lunar New Year.
