Da Nang launched the tourist season in 2018 on April 27 at the Bien Dong Park in the city's Son Tra peninsula with a programme of more than 20 activities, aiming to lure and entertain visitors to the coastal city.

Prominent among the events will be a Kayak racing competition, a kite contest and pavilions introducing Da Nang tourism information, sea cuisines, tour services and performance of sea sports. Music performances will also be organised every night.

A painting contest themed sea and islands will be held for children, together with various other activities.

The number of tourists to the central coastal city of Da Nang reached more than 355,500 on holidays between April 28 and May 1, a year-on-year surge of 14.2 percent.

Of the total, there were over 101,600 foreigners and 253,900 domestic holiday-makers, up 20.2 percent and 12 percent respectively from the same time last year.

The majority of foreign visitors were from the Republic of Korea, Japan and China. They came to the city via direct flights.

VietJet Air offers more flights to Danang from Hanoi and HCMC

VietJetAir will increase the flight frequency of a series of its recent domestic routes from 14 October, 2012. Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City-Nha Trang route will then have 2 round trips per day, HCMC-Da Nang with 3 daily round trips and Hanoi-Da Nang twice per day.

Especially, the budget carrier will bring on another big promotion entitled, "Enjoy flying with more flights, at only VND99,000 (US$4.5)". 10,000 promotional tickets will be available on the routes of Ho Chi Minh City-Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City-Da Nang and Hanoi-Da Nang for traveling from 14 October, 2012 to 31 March, 2013. Terms and conditions are applied.

VietJetAir currently flies Airbus A320 aircraft to Vietnam's four major hubs: Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang and Hanoi. VietJetAir now offers 10 return flights a day across its network, with routes between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Hanoi and Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang. The route linking Ho Chi Minh City and the northern city of Hai Phong will commence on October 1, 2012 with one return trip a day.

In late 2012, with the arrival of three further A320 aircraft to increase the fleet to six, VietJetAir will further expand its network, with new routes to more destinations in Vietnam as well as Southeast Asia. Routes currently under consideration include Hanoi-Phu Quoc, Hanoi-Da Lat, Ho Chi Minh City-Hue and Ho Chi Minh City-Vinh.
